"Yup! beacons my home for the next few months." she smiled and hoisted the bags up. "I can carry them fine on my own, but you look like your in a bit of pain. if you come back to beacon with me i can cook you something yummy and ensure you get healed up. i’m the mage slash medic of my team. Or…i will be once my team gets here. Beacon had an odd number of students this year, so i’m on my own for a fair bit." she let out a small chuckle.

"Oh hey, that sounds great. But….," Iris raised an eyebrow, "You sure the teachers aren’t gonna mind you showing up with some strange chick? I mean, I don’t wanna get you in trouble. I’m not sure I count as ‘Beacon quality’ if you get what I mean."

"Still," she pulled her bag over her head for a more secure hold, "It might be worth the risk for some food and a little help. If you’re willing, that is."

She giggled a little bit, once she knew it wasn’t some perv who had knocked her over just for a chance at her bust. “oh please don’t worry about it. This sort of thing happens fairly often, i should have been watching where i was going. and i suppose a small army is a good way to put it. the people on my floor eat like their never going to eat decent food again!” she let out a little laugh and began to help gather up the fallen goods. “my names Velvet by the way, it’s a pleasure to meet you!” she gave the purple haired girl a gentle smile.

"On your floor- OH. You must be one of those students from Beacon? Man, no wonder they eat this much. I heard the training there is best of the best," she snorted, stacking things carefully into bags so that nothing would get squished, "Nice to meet ya too. I’m Iris."

Scanning across the remaining bags she found the one that looked to be her own. She hoisted it up on her shoulder, “No wonder I fell over, this thing whacked me in the side when I ran into you.”

Still, Iris felt a little guilt nag at her. She should’ve been watching where she was going. It was a miracle the girl had been so accommodating. The sting in her calves wouldn’t have been happy if she’d had to run away from people again.

"Hey, you sure you’re not hurt? And these are quite a few bags. Don’t get me wrong," she held up her hands in defense, "if you go to that school I don’t doubt you’re plenty strong enough but I could help you carry some if you needed. I did knock you over after all."

She slowed again to a power walk instead of a jog. A couple of kids were playing across the street, and every now and then you could hear the jingle of doors being opened as people walked in and out of shops. As far as anyone else seemed concerned, she was just another pedestrian. Just as she began to relax, one of the kids tripped the other and the victim let out a wail that was at least twice as severe as the damage inflicted. Despite her better judgement, and still full of adrenaline and a little paranoia, Iris turned towards the source of the noise. As she rounded the corner, she felt her shoulder collide with another person. Despite trying to catch herself, she stumbled and fell on top of them.

"Ah, frick, I’m sorry!"

Velvet had been out on the town, to do some minor shopping for her floor’s kitchen. her hands were weighed down by two large canvas sacks each, bursting with an assortment of fruits, cheese’s and meats and bread. dried pasta and rice. plenty to keep the place stocked up for the week, despite how the students fell on food like starving wolves. She blinked as she felt a firm weight collide with her body, the canvas sacks sent flying along with their contents. And the poor girl went red as a beet as the other person landed face down….right between her breasts. She made a tiny noise of shock, her bunny ears stiffening from embarrassment.

Iris took a second to compose herself before raising her head - and realizing where she’d landed.

"Well, forgive me for being so forward, I hadn’t even bought you dinner yet!" she joked, giving a half pained grin as she shoved against the pavement to roll off the other girl. Taking a look around at all the groceries the faunus had dropped, she raised an eyebrow, "Though it looks like you’ve got enough here to feed an army. And I just helped you spill it all over the place."

Sighing she pivoted up onto her knees and held out a hand to help Velvet up, “Shit, I am sorry. You alright? I was born with two left feet and full of good intentions, but it’s no excuse to go knocking pretty girls off their feet. At least not when pavement’s involved. I’ll help you pick all this up.”

Dont know about my Muses’ past?

The feeling of pavement scraping beneath her feet had never felt more empowering for Iris. It was such a clean job until the homeowner spotted her jumping out the window, and with all the noise he had made, it was no wonder she had people trying to chase her down almost immediately. But, several blocks and two sets of rooftops later, there was nothing but exhillaration left in her footsteps as the confidence of shaking them off set in. She could’ve cheered. She didn’t, of course, but she could’ve. Instead, she settled for a mental dance and a moderate change in speed.

Going over her mental checklist she patted down the canvas bag she’d thrown the things into. It was enough to buy her food for a week at least, maybe two, and still afford to pay off an odd debt here and there. She might even have enough to drop some clothes off by her old house. It was the best haul she’d managed in a while, and was good enough to let her lay low til the chaos blew over.

Nearing the corner of the street, she mainained a moderate jog. The streets weren’t full by any stretch of imagination, but there were enough people to be decent cover once she found a place to rest.

"Two more streets and I’ll stop," she mumbled, still feeling the ache in her legs from a particularly rough landing off the shop a block away.

((i drafted an open rp post for tomorrow. i’m feeling much more in my element now after exploring other rp blogs today and reading a few roleplay hints and guides. thanks for the patience for those of you who’ve followed me! it’s been a slow startup, but i’m feeling good.))

khaosxdiskord: "Huh, that's weird... Hey, ya don't happen ta have some spare Lien would ya? I coulda sworn I had some on me just a second ago," the ear-less faunus girl asked.

"Me?" she paused to feign searching her pockets, "Sorry. Didn’t think to bring any with me. I was just heading out to meet a friend - figured if I didn’t bring anything, they’d have to pay!"

The lies came all to easily, as did the overly ‘genuine’ smile. In her head she was praising herself on not getting caught right away. Last time she’d had to leave everything she’d lifted behind and travel all the way to the richer districts to pick off enough to pay her debts. But that was safer than trying again in an area that expected you.

"You gotta be careful. I hear there’s a regular thief around here - they’ve hit up my place. You might’ve gotten pick pocketed."
